I’m really interested in knowing what growing demands there may be in porn consumption now, and in the near future.

What areas do you feel new pay sites could and should be exploring in order to provide something new in what is a forever increasingly competitive porn industry? Even if your picks are just based on your gut feelings, share them. If you have any statistical evidence to back it up, that would be even better!

I’ll start with my tip.

Feet.

I know the foot fetish has been around since forever, but I’m not sure the supply has quite met the demand yet. When we released some foot-centric videos we shot for TheHardOrder.com (which isn’t even a foot fetish site) sales had a big spike and TheHardOrder email inbox now receives lots of requests for more feet! Would really like this to be a thread for suggesting porn fetishes that are viable yet perhaps under catered for.

We still don’t have a really good glory hole sex site, some sites do it semi-regularly, but nothing that really explores the niche.

Lots of America guys go nuts for foreskin, but we still don’t have a really good foreskin site. There is Fantastic Foreskin. And lots of Euro sites feature uncut guys of course, but the problem is that if a foreskin seeker doesn’t see it on the tour, they may not buy. Also, most Euro producers don’t get the whole foreskin thing because they’re all uncut. So they never get their models playing with their foreskin. And docking, if you had a site that had lots of docking (that’s putting two cocks head to head and one of them has to have foreskin, then the foreskin goes over the other guy’s cock head and they jack) you’d make a fucking fortune.

I know that older / young is a big niche, but I’m dissatisfied with what’s out there. While the Phoenixxx sites are getting better at differing the ages between the guys, I still don’t think the daddies are quite old enough, sorry a 30-year-old isn’t a daddy unless he looks really rugged and masculine in my books … Mitch Vaughn isn’t a daddy, he’s a muscle man. And a few others out there have lots of fat, old men that I don’t find appealing. Since you already have a stable a nice-looking younger guys who aren’t twinks, it would nice to see a site with those types of guys paired up with 50-year-olds who are handsome, in shape, grey hair or greying, even a bit of a belly isn’t a turn off, not unless it look like the baby is way overdue.

I still think the biggest unexplored niche is all types of different fetishes. But it has to be done by someone into the fetish, who’s got a passion and understand of it. Like the sites Kink.com creates. Fetish is the most interesting part of porn and sexuality, just not enough of the real stuff around.

Along this point, if you’re looking to do more sites, I’d definitely diversify your portfolio and not do anymore scraper sites. One lawsuit and your whole business model could be gone. Plus scraper sites have pretty much had their day in the sun. Enough surfers have joined those kinds of sites to know that the promises on the tour don’t reflect what’s inside.

Michael - I think the foreskin angle is definitely one worth exploring, though I had never heard of ‘docking’, sounds fun though! It’s definitely something we could shoot for with the models we have on RateTheseGuys.com mostly having foreskins, so I’ll look into it for sure. You’re probably right about the older / young niche having room for improvement.

Bjorn - I wholeheartedly agree with you that Kink.com has created some amazing sites, you get the feeling that each site’s webmasters, directors and models are totally immersed in the fetish or ‘kink’ they are working on. But what fetishes have they yet to cover that you would like them (or someone else with the same passion that Kink has) to cover?

There are a lot of niches and fetishes that remain untapped, as Michael and Bjorn have said.

Fantastic Foreskin was started during a lot of discussion about what was missing and hadn’t been cornered, uncut guys are very popular, but as Michael says even the sites that have it don’t make enough noise about it. English Lads seems to have picked up on this in the last year and actually started mentioning foreskin in their scene descriptions, but they’re still not making any big deal out of it in their videos.

I agree that the glory hole aspect is also untapped. This would be freakin’ easy to do, and you could have anonymous guys taking part, straight guys, average guys, inexpensive guys with an inexpensive set and filming. There’s a guy on one of the tube sites who does this as a hobby, sucking off random visitors, and he has a massive following. You never see the guys faces, just him sucking their cock through the hole. It costs him nothing but time to make those videos, and it could be earning him a hefty income with a pay site - why is no one else doing that? If I had the resources I would be doing it myself.

There are also themes that haven’t been tapped that I’ve thought of before with a reality style to them. A prison block for instance, with regular inmates and guards. A fire-station, a police station, an army barracks… all of these would be awesome to see in a reality TV style, following the characters as part of a storyline.

This ongoing reality theme has worked remarkably well for sites like Fratpad, but there are so many ways to combine it with a fetish too, an no one is doing any of it yet.

Granted, some of it would take a bit of money to start up, but not really much more than any other site.

There are a hundred and one ideas running through my head, ideas that I really think would make the right company or individual a lot of money and create something fresh and new while tapping into the fetishes out there. If I had enough money and enough knowledge of the legalities, you can bet I would be starting at least one of these sites tomorrow.

Conran - I’m definitely warming to creating a foreskin fetish site. In RateTheseGuys.com we’ve got plenty of specific videos where the models show off and play with their foreskins only, so I could build on that, bring the models back for new shoots etc. Michael’s mention of ‘docking’ (which was new to me) has also got me thinking seriously.

The problem I have with a lot of the uniform sites is they simply throw a couple of guys in fireman gear and have them fuck on a bed. What would be idea, but it would cost a bit of money, is to rent some space somewhere where you could create a firehouse set, you know in this corner there’s a fire pole, in this area there’s a small sleeping quarter. Likewise with the cop set: a jail cell, the reception desk, a locker room. Obviously I’m not asking you to build a whole fire station, but just have some realistic sets you could use other than just getting a couple of guys fucking on a bed.

I guarantee that if you had a couple of firemen in full-on gear fucking by the slide pole, you’d make a killing. Firemen and cops always have a feud going on, so even cops fucking firemen. If this niche is done right, it could do well. But please don’t just go out and by some uniforms and have the guys fucking on the bed.

I think with any produced fetish or niche it really helps when the producers can understand and express what the key draw is. This is, of course difficult to do unless they are into the fetish themselves.

This is where Kink.com have done so well over the years. You get the impression they would be doing all the stuff they film anyway, even if the cameras weren’t there to capture it all. I’d like to be able to create more sites, and see others create more sites, which have this genuine love for the fetish they are exploring.

I’m wondering what porn the Chinese and South Korea are buying, since as countries they seem to produce very little. Do Chinese porn consumers search for western porn? I’d love to know what niche fetishes are big in those Asian countries, and/or what western sites are doing well there.

Anyone producing sites here that are selling well in Asia?

Yep, this is exactly what I mean.

There are a few sites/studios producing theme porn, but it is just some guys in rented uniforms and maybe a couple of props if you’re lucky. What I can see being a real success is having a proper set, with proper characters, or a reality style to it. Some sites have done this, like Fratpad as mentioned, Dominic Ford with their SYTYCF series, and Eurocreme with their Dreamboy Hotel.

There are a couple of variations on the style, for instance Fratpad is more reality than fetish, and Eurocreme is more the ongoing story and setting than the characters. But I think something with some realism to it, where guys can log in and be a voyeur in a Fire station, police cells or a gym locker room… that would be a best selling site over night.

@abostonboy - I know, but it’s a good discussion, and if it helps others to create something that sells really well for me then I’m all for keeping this thread going. I would love the opportunity to work with someone on creating one of these sites in the future too, so I think it’s worth the conversation even if the thread was started with suspicious intent. :wink:

There’s no suspicious intent. I genuinely want to learn what areas porn professionals are exploring and pinning their hopes on. Perhaps the way I introduced it was clumsy. Let’s keep the thread on topic, and save the bashing for other threads?

Michael - the thing that confuses me though is that the stats show that China spend the most money on porn. And South Korea, which is small compared to the US in population, spend the 2nd highest amount of money on porn. Their money must be going somewhere? Would be so useful to find some info on where Chinese and South Korean porn customers are signing up.
