Last question about this whole Ipod / Iphone thing.

Trying to make sense of the video format, mp4 / H.256. Does it matter if it’s only mp4 and not with H256 encoding? It’s just that some videos doesn’t seem to be possible to encode with mp4 + H.256 as the quality isn’t good enough.

Would simply mp4 be enough for it to work on most devices?

ALL videos can be compressed with H.264. It’s like saying the wall isn’t high quality enough to be painted blue…

But more than that, you want H.264 because it will create a smaller file which is critical over something like 3G.

thanks, I understand now. It’s just that some programmers I use told me that not all clips could be converted to mp4 h.264.

sometimes converting older mpeg videos to h.264 mp4 clips does not look very nice, its usually better to start with a large avi or even a dvd rip vob file.

yes… that’s when you have a choice. Sponsors provide all kinds of weird and wonderful video formats and encodings! Making it somewhat difficult to use their content.

iPhone is just an iPod touch + phone + camera + GPS. If you don’t need those, just get the iPod touch. We have both and we use both for playing and surfing with the home WiFi.

$800 is a lot! We got our iPhone for free. Had to enslave ourselves to a program, but it wasn’t expensive at all. Including 2G of bandwidth a month, we only pay about $10 more a month compared to the previous phone.

By the way, back to the question that started this thread - any other mobile sponsors other than those mentioned here. I am looking for something in the hunks/studs and muscle niches.
