Patti’s thread about encountering mobile sites that have videos that can’t be viewed on on the iPhone made me wonder - with all the sponsors promoting mobile sites lately, how many of them will actually work on iPhones? I just looked at Google Analytics and nearly 2/3rds of my mobile traffic is iPhone/iPod/iPad. Needless to say, I don’t want to promote a mobile site that only works for 1/3rd of my mobile traffic.
So sponsors - are your mobile sites iPhone compatible?
Second question - if a video is iPhone compatible will it also work on Android? That would put it up to 75%…
OK, here is the deal…those guys who are so horny that they can’t wait to go to the men’s room until they get home…so they are going to buy a “special” member ship so they can rub one off at work…for $40.00
Personally I don’t think so. They are going to have a couple of pics on that phone that they can get off. Period.

I totally agree, pretty much my feeling. I know people jerk-off away from the “wife” when on business or office etc… But they would have a laptop or something similar with a bigger screen and normal net access. Not a tiny mobile. Have anyone tried jacking off with a mobile in one hand? Doesn’t sound terrible… convenient to me.
This thread is now TOTALLY off topic. Worse, none of you seem to be talking from experience - you’re just stating unfounded opinion which really doesn’t help anyone.
Here’s some hard data for you - one mobile site I’ve never actually promoted has made two sales from 129 uniques (so a ratio of 1:64) and it’s had 8 rebills. Apparently I sent traffic to a sponsor who redirected the mobile traffic to a mobile site. Mobile porn does sell, and apparently people like it well enough that it rebills as well.
7.7% of my traffic is now on mobile devices. You say they won’t buy porn on their mobile device, well they absolutely won’t if I never give them the option to view something they can actually use on their phone. At the same time I don’t want to send them to “mobile” sites that less than 1/3rd of them can actually use. But I’m not going to just give up on 7.7% of my traffic.
[Actually, I didn’t realize the percentage was that high until I looked into things to write up this reply. I feel more strongly about this than I did yesterday when I started the thread. So I guess in a weird way I need to say thank you for taking it off topic which forced me to do the research and figure out numbers I needed to know.]
Bottom line, a small percentage is better than zero. Mobile sites have a better shot at converting mobile traffic than regular sites do. And who knows, if they see a mobile site maybe they’ll sign up with the intention of using the parent web site, or maybe they’ll be more likely to sign up for the parent site knowing there’s a mobile site they can use.
So let’s start this all over…
Which sponsors have mobile sites that work on the iPhone?
If a video can play on an iPhone, can it play on Android?
Yes, all our mobile sites are iPhone compatible AND are compatable with ANY smart phone with an operating system, ie, windows and android.
Plus on top of that, members that join our mobile sites get access to both the mobile and home versions of their site (eg, realbareback.mobi members get access to realbareback.com) and the full versions of the sites also have flash, full quicktime and wmv video options.
Oh, and for the skeptics, to date there have been over 5 billion apps downloaded on iPhones. According to this article on Bloomberg, apple is going to sell over 1 million new iPhone 4 models on its release date.
Are you seriously saying you are going to ignore this whole entire market? If you do, then don’t complain about another month of poor sales and the stagnant economy!
most of my income is from mobile now. with the way traditional paysites are going i would be serving fries if i didn’t make the decision to go after that traffic a few years ago.
you have to set aside your own beliefs and preconceptions about viewing porn on an iphone and try and conceptualize why consumers do. because they do.
people spend the whole day pecking away at facebook on their phones now. same people also look at porn.
This from the man who used the same “GOD HAS SPOKEN” tone when he said “John McCain will the be next President. DEAL WITH IT!”
Then made some bitter comment about a party at the Abbey.
But I digress.
We’re working on our iPad version right now, trying to make it really work and look good. We’ve found that there are a lot of men who want to keep their porn as private as possible. They don’t want the kids to accidentally stumble on their porn, they don’t want the wive to check their history and see what sites they’ve been looking at.
They want to have their porn to jerk off while they’re away on business and yes… even in the men’s room at work.
Even after the wife goes to bed as they “work” in their home office.
Portable devices mean a level of privacy that you can’t get on the family computer that the kids and wife are using.
We have over 30 live sites - all working on all the phones - iPhone is the major converting device… so we render a special version of the sites for that traffic. We only build mobile sites - so we stay on top of the tech changes. This summer’s upgrade is going to be awesome…
Not all our content partners want to work with affiliates though, but those who do:
So it seems, that as of now we have:
Hunkmoney with six mobile sites, that can handle all types of phones.
Jake Cruise is working on one for the iPad
No one else got mobile sites? Doesn’t Dick Dorm have a mobile site now? Or is it not compatible with some mobile devices?
Suite703.com is mobile although we asked members if they use their mobile for porn and a majority say they dont because they either want a larger screen or prefer not to be browsing porn in public whistle
hm, reminds me of the whole flv video/tube debate a few years back “no one will want to watch tube sites and flv videos, dvds for life!” now it’s “no one will want to watch porn on their phones, computers for life!” oh how little has changed.
the fact of the matter is this. Like it or not porn on mobile devices is here to stay and if you can’t adapt to that you’re going to miss out.
Also once the HTML 5 issues/security holes are sorted out it’ll be even better/easier to get your content going on portable devices.
to answer your previous questions MP4 should play on Android phones. right now Android is the third highest mobile OS viewing our mobile site. and as previously stated once HTML5 is sorted out it will go even higher.
As soon as I got my hands on an iPhone it was clear to me this is where Adult is going. It is much more convenient than opening up a laptop or sitting by a desktop. I just regret not having the time to develop sites for this growing market.

I’m sure it’s a growing market as it’s quite new, but why would anyone choose watching porn on a mobile with a small screen if they have a choice? i.e if they are at home or have a laptop next to them, would anyone still choose the mobile, and why?
Sorry yes, it’s off topic but as you discovered Rawtop, that’s good sometimes.
There is something else I don’t understand. Some of you are saying that you see sales on mobile phones, but good mobile devices wouldn’t generate sales for mobile sites… wouldn’t those users just signup for the standard type of site.
Or why would say a Iphone user or Blackberry user not signup to a normal membership site and choose specifically a mobile phone site? Is it the video formats, design or?

I think some sponsors detect the mobile device and redirect the traffic to the mobile optimized site.
