Re: What is obscene these days? BBC article
Thanks for sharing this, Ill read it properly tomorro. I read the first few paragraphs and the guy says that lavatory stuff is obscene so perhaps that does mean that piss is out.
I have to say that they should have clearer boundaries. WE shouldnt have to second guess what some old fart Judge will think is obscene. The law makers should say exactly what laws they want me to follow, and Ill gladly follow it to the letter.
This subject makes me so mad as its wrong to be able to break the law because you cant/dont understand the law or because it just isnt clear enough.
Re: What is obscene these days? BBC article
Yes that’s how I interpreted that line too.
Also it might mean no reading, crosswords, or whistling in videos
Re: What is obscene these days? BBC article
Still nothing new there, i had gaydemon checked by to law firms and they both say the same thing.
The legislation is very old and out of date, what was seen as obscene back then, isnt anymore. People have become much more tolerant and porn is a part of daily life. As such its only extreme cases that would ever be looked at, if even then.
They recon as long as you stay away from anything that could look like underage, rape etc it wont be a problem. This however includes affiliates, promoting sites that imply underage (even if models are over 18).
I still havent heard of a single site, producer or reseller done for “obscenity”.
What has been followed up by the police is DVD sales (again including affiliate sales) from any UK based company or person, the only legal way is to sell DVDs over the counter in a licenced sex shop.
Re: What is obscene these days? BBC article
I thought that was the case. Ive always said no to DVD sposnors on that basis but was never 100% about it. Sounds like im right not too.
Re: What is obscene these days? BBC article
I agree with your comments but personally wouldn’t promote watersports. I don’t promote physical DVDs for sale anymore either.
Re: What is obscene these days? BBC article
Yeah, odd isnt it. Most things are ok, but DVDs a no no… Thats as I said the only thing the solicitors could say for sure.
Re: What is obscene these days? BBC article
It does seem strange that R18 DVDs can’t be sold unless you are a licenced sex shop, but paysites are selling access to both licenced online content from these DVDs and stuff they have shot which is not BBFC rated.
