Traffic from Baidu (the biggest search engine of China) is growing very fast. Time on site and bounce rate are very good, so I figure they like my sites, but they probably won’t buy a thing.
What are you doing with your Chinese traffic? Have you found ways to monetize that traffic? Are you blocking traffic from China?
Looking at the last 30 days, 19.49% of my traffic comes from Baidu and I get more of it every day
The top searches are:
gay
gayporn
gay porn
ç·åå¿ç½ç« (gay website in English)
The last one is weird, since I am not even using Chinese characters on my sites, so I guess Baidu translates what users are searching for and then returns results in different languages.
We’re redirecting traffic from China and Taiwan with GeoIP (with affilates’ codes intact) and are seeing some sales come in from these countries where before there were none. Just one of those little things we’re doing behind the scenes to try to make everyone more money.
We will be adding more Chinese language tours to zbuckz as well in the coming months.
By the way, in addition to China I recommend you also re-direct the other big Chinese language countries such as Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore (and you may want to consider Malaysia as well). We’re actually doing the best with Taiwan and Hong Kong.
No, I don’t mind at all. Actually I’d love to see how it works for you too! You’ll be the first affiliate to specifically promote it in this way.
Best,

Hey Daniel,
Great, I have put up a redirection on some of my domains that get the most Chinese traffic.
Not sure about the other countries yet… have to check my sales stats first, as I believe I am getting quite some sales from those countries already. I might lose those sales when I am going to offer them another page than what they were actually looking for. I will look into this and let you know asap.

Yes, we did already get some sales in Singapore and Hong Kong before the change, a lot of people speak English in those countries. Most people only speak Chinese in Taiwan though so if you pick only 2 countries I would do China and Taiwan.
Just to let you know, even on the Chinese tour, we have a link taking them to the English site if they want it (and your affiliate code is still carried through). So you wouldn’t lose sales to English speaking people in those countries. I guess it also depends on the niche your sites are in though, but AsianBoyNation does convert the best of all our sites on Asian traffic at the moment.
