Ways to get inbound links...

I’m looking to share ideas on how to get good inbound links to your sites. I’ve started off the list with things I can think of, but I’m sure there must be more…

  • Link exchanging (blogrolls etc.)
  • Paid link placement (blogrolls etc.)
  • Paid directory links
  • Press releases (make the news)
  • Get involved on topical forums (signature links)
Any more?

Have interesting content that people link to without you asking (or paying) them to…

Case and point - other sex bloggers link to my personal sex blog without me asking them to - just because they like it.

Those are the absolute best links and the reason why “link bait” is such a big deal outside of porn.

Very true. I’ve seen up close what Google can do to you. Without a lot of bookmarkers I would never have survived the ups and downs of Google’s madness.

Bookmarkers comes from doing a good, interesting OR useful site (gaydemon isn’t that great, but it can be useful for surfers… i.e. bookmarkers).
