hello webmasters, I need an advice. There is a long time I think to move on tube and still hesitate.
What do you think about this idea, my curent website is: http://www.edengay.com
My tube project is powered by mechbunny tube script here: http://www.edengay.com/tube2017
of course it will be move on root if I decide to go tube.
Re: TGP site changing for a tube site, what do you think?
I always liked Eden Gay, you have such a nice design style.
Are the galleries just not selling?
Thanks for your words
It sales not as well as in past I’m afraid, but I suppose this is a common case.
In past I had ton of traffic but it was before tubes :grrr:
I see my traffic decreasing day after day and trying to find solutions, not sure the “tube” is the good one.
Since I change my traffic style for no redirection I see less sales.
It’s a challenge everyday to have a site working fine actually.
Re: TGP site changing for a tube site, what do you think?
being a photographer I will always side with good photography but times change and unless your PHOTO
gallery navigation can be worked with one hand / finger with “slide show option” VIDEO will always win! lol

Thank you Jim, I really prefer TGP, I like pictures, you can choose the most beautiful picture and put it on face with a video it’s more complicated and videos are always hardcore where you can have softcore with posing cute models to promote a sponsor if you see what I mean
In second hand tube is more community oriented and easier to go, I need to think to this.
Re: TGP site changing for a tube site, what do you think?
the straight ones often are, but they also sometimes charge for listings.
even just before some changed over, they were sending plenty of traffic, and since they had that much traffic, it’s possible they jumped without considering whether the change was necessary. and, for that matter, whether they had really thought everything through.

It’s certainly easier for straight sites because they have more traffic for sure. Gay is a niche and most of traffic has been taken by one or two big companies. Funny thing that these companies still want to buy our ad spots, and best of all they ask how much traffic we have currently. Maybe they can estimate when will the site be avalaible to buy.
Re: TGP site changing for a tube site, what do you think?
Can you use the tube script and still have photos? If so do it because I think the script you use could be hurting you. Are you just going to remove all the old galleries or importing them in some way? If you suddenly lose all the content / galleries you will lose a lot of traffic too.
I think the combination you have now with a video + photos is the best setup and makes your site unique. Ifyou can keep that setup then do it.
On GayDemon I moved from TGP to a video gallery with photos, this increased my traffic. BUT I only used FHG so it was always going to get more traffic than before. I have a feeling your situation is quite different.
If you do move, try and keep as much content as possible, keep the URLs the same as before, dont change your design too much, make sure to allow Google to index your video files and use a good CDN.
Re: TGP site changing for a tube site, what do you think?
Yes the tube script has a part named ‘albums’ which hold all pictures with a really good slider but pictures can’t be on same page than video at less script out of the box, and this is what I would like.
No sure to move on tube at this time because most visitors come for the current version and maybe will leave because not interested on tube.
Maybe I will change design to have an easier theme to use with same mind than current.
Yes I know google not like content mover but I will not move galleries anyway.
Thank you for your CDN advice, I forgot to test it since I move to Europe server and time load is 2 times longer in USA. I’m sure this will help a lot.

What he said!
There’s a new board member, Pyewacket, who has been doing TGPs for about 19 years, hopefully she will see this thread and contribute.
Re: TGP site changing for a tube site, what do you think?
I LOVE your site – clean, easy to navigate, easy to read. Your galleries are GORGEOUS!!
I’ve run general niche link lists for about 10 years now, building websites for 19 years, and about 3 years ago, I turned the niche lists to TGPs. Why? Nobody builds free sites anymore. Everything is gallery. I am actually happy with them. They don’t get a lot of sales, but they more than pay their way. My network now has 1 general link list that accepts everything, plus 13 niched TGPs and now 2 hybrid tube - about half scraped and the other half is sponsor clips. I am really enjoying it. I now have Got Cock? and decided to make it pure gay instead of the mixture of gay-shemale-bi-anyone with a cock. I have so much material, and well, I do rather enjoy looking at the guys. (The TGPs are all through TGPx for convenience but the tube runs through WP-Script which gives me a lot of flexibility.)
Sales everywhere are down, so don’t think it is you personally. About 90% of the lists I used to submit to even 3 years ago are either tubes or gone - mostly gone. The rest of us are the die-hard survivors. You do still have traffic, so they are definitely interested in what you have. I would keep it and NOT change it to tube. My problem is no submitters and very few places to submit galleries, especially gay. Overall, my traffic is up, so I am going to say that people are looking and just not ready to buy yet.
Why not keep the setup you currently have now? You could easily add a domain name and point it to the folder you have your tube site started in. Cross link what you can. Lots of businesses have an express type service, and that is what your tube is compared to your TGP. My vote is to keep both.

Hi Pyewacket, I thought also to keep both, what I thought when going on tube is that my gallery builder is now a bit old and I need to move on a more modern script to avoid issue with php update for example.
I will message you another idea I have as template, as I think the template is good but maybe not for a TGP, I’m not sure.
Thank you for all advices
Re: TGP site changing for a tube site, what do you think?
TGP doesn’t have to be so rigid. Look at the huge differences you see out there already. Some offer a very simple text link which goes to a gallery of some sort. Others are a graphic image that is clicked. I see others that are both. Nowdays, they can be picture or movies. What I love about your site (and the template) is you are offering attractive galleries without huge amounts of advertising. You can find the content right away and navigation is very simple. No tricks, just clean, simple, and elegant. Don’t be afraid to redesign it and never be afraid to be the one to set the mark for others to reach for.
One thing you can do is ask your visitors which one they prefer.

Re: TGP site changing for a tube site, what do you think?
I visited your site and I must say your site is very good. But if you are serious about moving to tube then you should try to keep both. Since Mechbunny script has their own developers why not you ask them for a custom template for your website where you can show both your videos as well as your galleries? I think that will be great if they can do so. And also you can put a link in your header menu for your gallery section. This way your visitor will always have an option whether they want to see videos or galleries.
