Stressed? Christmas Gift Suggestions!

I’m getting somewhat stressed, got to get a few “fun” stocking fillers for a few people… but what to get?

Any suggestions? What have you found which is a great idea for a little christmas gift?

the sansa clip - my favorite MP3 player because of its great sound, an actual useful screen, small size and built on clip.

I like the site thingsremembered.com. I usually can find a gift on their site for a decent price.

Stockings are ideal for gift cards. Choose something you know they’ll enjoy, whether it’s to a video store, clothing store, restaurant, etc. Amazon.com online is always a winner too, and I actually saw gift cards for Ebay at the grocery last week!

Re: Stressed? Christmas Gift Suggestions!

Or you can get a prepaid mastercard from local shops in the uk now. They are good as they can be spent almost anywhere. Or Virgin Money do one.

I think they are very common in the USA.

Really? So just like a normal card but you load it with money?

Re: Stressed? Christmas Gift Suggestions!

yup. i haven’t found that they work for everything, but they work at a lot of places online.

Re: Stressed? Christmas Gift Suggestions!

Those prepaid gift cards are very handy. We use the Visa ones here all the time.

Re: Stressed? Christmas Gift Suggestions!

I only know about Virgin one in the UK. You can load for free at the post office but it takes 1 day, or for a fee at any paypoint machine. Thats instant, I think its about 3% to do it that way though.

I have one, but dont really use it. I only have debit cards normally so this is a back up so I can pay my hosting if Epass goes the way IBill did.

They told me I can use it anywhere that I could use a normal Mastercard. But petrol pumps require you to have a certain amount on the card, so pay at the pump petrol stations might be an issue. They said food places and airline tickets might be an issue to.

Re: Stressed? Christmas Gift Suggestions!

My favorite’s that I like to get now:

itunes Gift Card
ShopAdidas.com Gift Card
Visa Gift Cards Rock.

Re: Stressed? Christmas Gift Suggestions!

I know they are popular in the USA, but its a new concept in the UK that we sort of borrowed from you guys  We dont have any VISA that I can find, only Mastercard and AMEX do a travel money card.

Re: Stressed? Christmas Gift Suggestions!

Gift cards are great, we have VISA, Mastercard, etc. but there was a thing on our news here, about how some have some odd restrictions, so buyer be ware and read. Like they expire in 30 days or stuff like that which is in the fine print. So when buying gift cards they recommend making sure of the terms of use, like some can only be applied to a purchase if it is x dollars or if less than the card amount, you lose the difference.

But they are super when they work right

Interesting that Canada would still allow the Cards to have those restrictions, there was such an uproar here in the States that they can’t do that now. People were buying cards to give and by the time they got around to using them they had “run out” of funds, or expired, etc etc
