Seriously Billy Santoro?

I just saw this status on Twitter… https://twitter.com/BillySantoroXXX/status/462189658223288320

I know Billy Santoro (and his husband Seth Treston) and Michael Lucas are not exactly friends, but still…
Sending your 44K followers to a pirated movie on Pornhub? Do we really need to explain him that he has no work without paying customers?

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

Obviously yes, you do need to explain it to him. And a few others it would seem :bang:

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

Seriously… you would think someone working in Porn to be at least a bit aware of illegal uploads and the problems it causes.

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

What do you expect from porn stars? They are not really scientists…

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

Though I’m a bit surprised in this case given Billy’s high esteem, I hope that none of you are under the illusion this isn’t a widespread problem with performers in this industry. Just a few days ago I discovered that Marko Lebeau, who happens to be one of my personal favorites, has a website with full videos from several of the scenes in which he has been featured. Unless they have some type of permission, in which case I see absolutely no logic, performers both current and former should be among the last to engage this type of behavior and should be penalized in a way that sends a strong message that blatantly sharing copyrighted material is unacceptable.

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

At least the scene is gone now

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

Your example amazes me even more… especially Marko Lebeau should know better.

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

Yes I just noticed that. Very good.

I doubt it got many plays anyway. To the left of the video were thumbs to straight porn videos. Most gay men I know would leave that page in a heartbeat once they saw pussy.

I don’t understand this type of behavior either. It appears as though many sponsors and now models, haven’t got a freakin’ clue anymore.

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

Maybe someone needs to seriously explain this to some of these guys. Maybe it needs to be in their contacts or confirmation emails that if they’re involved in pirating their own scenes, they pay a penalty that includes returning their fees.
I’ve heard from models who illegally download porn and I’ve tried explaining that they’re destroying their own industry and source of income. But I’ve never seen porn guys involved in direct piracy like this!

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

Eh…but who knows for sure? Perhaps they’re actually onto something. I just don’t see how it could be boosting their profits in any way. It’s not as if they couldn’t easily protect their content.

Take Corbin Fisher for example. The mere credible threat of legal action, though seen as harsh and unfair, especially to minors at the time, served as an efficient deterrent. You’ve almost never seen a full video of theirs anywhere other than on their website since they’ve taken steps to protect their content, so I find it deeply frustrating and disappointing when I reach out to an official at Mindgeek on the issue of piracy, and that person tells me “that’s just how it is”.

I must give at least some credit though. Mindgeek does own Pornhub and Billy Santoro’s video was almost immediately taken own. Perhaps they’ve corrected their policies. Who knows?

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

Billy Santoro is not exactly one of the bright ones. After his MEN.com contract was over, he posted a video blog that basically said [and I paraphrase]: Thank God that’s over I didn’t really enjoy working with them.

Even if MEN.com were the biggest assholes ever, it’s not a good idea to run your mouth on a video blog when you’re looking for new studios and sites to hire you. Who wants to hire a model who is just going to post a video blog ripping you a new one?

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

They were asked to take it down… and yes they do indeed act quick when they get a take down request.

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

Nope…the ability to get your cock hard in front of a camera doesn’t take a degree but this gives the term “attention whore” a new meaning really.

Re: Seriously Billy Santoro?

a good deal of Adult Performers SPAM the projects their in , most though “link” to there respective “producers”.

I thought the Account was cute , there’s more pictures of his “boyfriend” than him … obviously he likes him alot! ( interpreted: I hate TWITTER accounts that resemble “announcement boards” … PERSONAL accounts should be PERSONAL! )

Yeah, for a racketeering operation, Mindgeek is right up there. I’m sure some nice things occasionally happened on the Death Star, too.
