Does anyone know a script or program that can crawl a site and look for missing pages and broken links? I used to use a program called linkbug but it doesnt work on Windows Vista.
I just need something to crawl my sites and give me a report of broken links.
(Preferable not a server based script.)

Re: Need a broken link checker
Bjorn,
I didn’t answer right away because I was sure somebody would have a good tool for you. But since nobody has…
I recently used http://validator.w3.org/checklink .
It works OK for single pages. Not sure how well it’ll work for a giant site like yours though. Maybe try the recursive option.
Surely someone has a better option…
Re: Need a broken link checker
Thanks, had no idea w3 had a link checker. I use them to validate my sites but not looked around at what other tools they have. I should really!
