A few weeks ago I redesigned my blogs with the help of my boyfriend. The work on the porn blog took forever 'cause I had to recategorize everything, but it was worth it… Traffic from Google is up 95% overall, traffic to the porn blog in general is up 109%, and I’m seeing a big increase in revenue as a result.
I was worried i was only getting the traffic 'cause all my new category pages were considered “fresh” content. But if that were the case I’d expect to start seeing a dip by now, but I’m not seeing it.
I think the problem in the past has been that I was getting penalized 'cause my category pages were too heavy. Blogger (what I was using) doesn’t have paged “label” pages so in some cases, after tons of posts on the same topic the label page got too fat and could create problems.
WordPress tags and categories have made a difference too. The reason why the tags were driving me crazy with problems was 'cause I was SEOing the tag names that were appearing in the <title> of the page. But that SEOing seems to have been worth the headaches it caused…
I’m cautiously optimistic things will continue… We’ll see…
Google is holding steady for me. Still up about 95% over the same baseline period…
One thing I hadn’t looked at last time was Google Images… Looks like that’s up even more - 194% over the base line period. But you have to remember that Google Images traffic is under-reported in Google Analytics 'cause Google Analytics doesn’t count hits that are framed by another site, so Google Images traffic doesn’t count unless they click on one of the links in the top frame to remove the frame. Most people don’t do that, so most Google Images traffic isn’t counted.
I used to almost exclusively hotlink images from image gallery pages, now I’ve gone to doing collages of images on my own server. I think Google Images likes the fact that the images are on the server, plus, the cropping and resaving that I do means the image is “different” than my competitor’s image… And Google always likes things that are ‘unique’…
I’ve actually been following your blog for a while now. And I have to admit, the new look definitely is great!
But I have a question for you and others: how exactly do you make money with a blog? Is it by signing up for Affiliate programs? Or are there other ways?
Granted, I don’t expect to give up my day job but if I can find a way to make a few extra bucks where I don’t have to fuck on camera (not that I mind that at all!) or work as hard at a “regular” job, that would be nice.

It’s all about the affiliate programs… The guys who read your blog are horny… Give them options to get off… And once you get things figured out you can quit your day job…
do a special blogroll section called “Best Gay Paysites” or “Recommended Gay Sites” and list all the sites with your link codes, once again like those two above samples
