To make it worth you building?
I openly admit that freesites are not my forte. Im getting better and sales from it have got better since we did that workshop. For me if I do 2 free sites and 1 makes a sale in the first week, Im happy with that (but I do find that archived sites go on to make sales when their off the new list). Is that really low for freesite building?

The new free sites I’m trying out can do up to 3 sales on the first week. But I think it really depends on the content.
I’ve gone for very basic and clean galleries which only really shows off the content and with no distractions. To early to say if its working out very well or not but from what I can see its looking good.
I thin if you create really good free sits they can stay around for a long time, specially if you get them listed at a few good directories (gaydemon of course 
) people will keep visiting for a long time, more so than I think they would visit AVS sites.

People say mine are “clean”. I am clearly missing something I think. I do wonder if its my text that lets me down the most. Ill see what others say. Im always trying to learn and develop so Im aware that Im still near the bottom with freesites. Perhaps Ill put up some more freesites I did since our workshop as that thread really did help me big time.

Sorry, dont missunderstand me. Your galleries are clean! I like them, there isnt much I would change on them. But I’m not an expert at free or avs sites really.

Bjorn, I thought about trying something like that , they really do convert ?
Also I thought one needed about 60 pics on the site, I see you are using 48 has this caused any problems getting them submitted.

If I can see a couple of sales in the first week, I’m pretty happy. But I’m also learning that often sales don’t come for a week or two. I think it was Lloyd who said it’s probably because a lot of surfers check out the category sections and not the new sections, and I think he’s right.

my experience was always that sites that were too clean and too uniform don’t sell as well as a site where the ads pop better and things were a little rough. uniform was a real problem - a site with 3 or 4 galleries with the same layout with clean text that no one noticed didn’t do as well for me as sites where the text on the top of the galleries was a different size than at the bottom. and the bottom might have 2 lines of text, one big and one small or even a couple words that were a different color.

It does cause problems at other link lists, but running 3 links lists myself has its perks
But yes, for example HunkHunter does not accept them, while Manpics2000 do accept them.
To be honest its their loss, link lists who do not list these sites are making some rather silly decisions. Which in the long run will be good for me as the competition will have less to offer surfers.
So as it is, I rather not list them everywhere anyway. And will only list them at my 3 link lists and Manpics2000. That way I make sure to keep my link lists going with good quality sites no matter what other webmasters submits. The best way to make sure I have good sites listed, is… yes making them myself.
These sites are really a link list owners dream and exactly what a surfer wants. So by creating these I provide my surfers with good quality free sites, I also provide my sponsors with more traffic and of course more sales to me.
Besides I have never approved of using too much free stuff. So to me 48 or so pictures is more than enough. The more free stuff you give a way the less sales everyone will have. Unfortunatley people dont seem to realize this.

I agree that 60 is far to many, its almost like giving them and AVS for free.

actually a lot of webmasters make avs sites and use the same sites in other folders as a freesites.

depends on what avs you use - sexkey only requires 30 pics, but i tended to use more because i was actually trying to make avs sales, not just feeder sales, so i wanted a nice tour that used more sets. with ugas, you need 50 pics for participating or preferred, 300 for platinum.

Based on my 5 year experience, I’d say that one free site can make about 2-3 signups initially (while it gets most traffic from the link lists), and then a few more over a longer time period. I even got some sales from the sites that were 3 or 4 years old.
However, recently free sites have become unpredictable also. So some may make 4 sales, while others may make none at all.

Well by the sound of it, mine need a bit of work…I think I have some great sponsors now with great content. Ill put one up for review at some point soon, you can all pick it apart. The freesite workshop increased sales so I think the secret is keep asking…

This is so very true. I get regular sales every month from big cash Society’s Latin Men site and it’s like clockwork. They are all like 5 years old.
