So as I’ve mentioned I started out testing other links lists with my free sites (pornisation.com/sites/). I will try to publish stats I have on traffic from these link lists on a regular basis. So here is the first sample traffic stats.
The traffic was for a 2 day period, 13-14 Oct. Please note that gaydemon, manpics and hunkhunter traffic is not reliable and so high because there are more of my sites listed for longer on those link lists than the others. (bostonboys and gaypornengine is also not as reliable).
Also worth noting, Gay-porn-pig is not a link list primarily and SMAQ only gives 1 listing per domain.
I shouldnt really have Dickcraver in that list, the sites are not submitted to Dickcraver so please ignore that one. I might actually try out dickcraver properly as well.
If any other “major” link lists have been left out, let me know.
interesting, thanx for sharing…
i must admit the numbers for dickcraver is much lower than what i would have expcted…
sadly the numbers you produce for dickcraver there is very much on par with that my sites get from there thought it was just my niche that didnt give that much traffic from there and will disregard it from your stats above and await real stats…
But they dont even seem to bother validate or list sites, we submitted the first sites now almost 2 weeks ago!
One of the smaller lists, gaypornlinx now also says they will only accept 1 site per day, with the small amount of traffic they have i fail to see the point of submitting to them with such a rule.
Sure if you are a major straight link list you might get away with such a rule.
bjorn, some tgps and link lists take a month to list submissions, so keep an eye out in case your sites get listed later on sites you haven’t shown up on yet.
I think he (gaypornlinx) has put a limit with 1 site per day, so even if he might have decent traffic it now is impractical to submit to him.
I just got an approval from gayfreeporn.net, but it was a freesite I submitted ages ago. I do, however, get decent traffic from them.
I dropped Cool Gay Links ages ago because I just wasn’t getting much traffic from them.
Gay Porn Linx surprises me because I get really decent traffic from him.
How could you redesign the experiment so that it produced a more realistic set of numbers?
I haven’t tracked numbers of freesites visits in quite a while - I watch the numbers of sales made, trying to determine what selling strategy is working best.
Because the traffic is going to be what it is - in a sense, one has little control over it - but i can control how I sell to the traffic I get.
I don’t think you can. All link lists approve sites on their own schedule; some very quickly, some very slowly. Add to that variation in traffic levels on each LL.
Then, begin to factor in other things like: some link lists will naturally have more twink or jock or hairy man traffic than others; if your site was approved on a Friday, you’ll probably get more traffic than a site approved on a Tuesday; and then, factor in the number of approvals, their niches, and the title and description-writing abilities of other webmasters’s sites approved on the same day as yours.
I’d say it’s pretty difficult to set up a completely fair experiment.
The top traffic providers would be Gaydemon, Manpics and Hunkhunter anyway, simple because those are the largest gay link lists around.
I guess you could take sample data on a single gallery on a set period of time, but that would not be realistic in other ways since then it will depend on what type of surfers each site has and their preferences
As it is now, its a test on 20 free sites, spread over all niches, looking at 2 days only. Its as fair as I could make it I think. Over time, the stats will change and be even more reliable.

Well… yes and no. Everything takes time. So if I allocate time dedicated to submitting sites to link lists that time has to spend were its worth the most. Had the traffic been large from that 1 site, then sure. But its not.
Ok, so I looked at the stats in a different way trying to be more realistic or accurate.
I choose one Free sites, which was listed on the 8th Oct (last week). This means each link list has had the same amount of time to get it listed and send traffic.
But as you can see from below results, it actually seems to become much more inaccurate, because now we see that not all link lists are listing that one site, some have skipped it, others must have placed it in a category that no one is interested in etc… And some, like manpics hasnt yet validated it I believe.
I know that there is Asian content on http://www.pornisation.com. Have you thought about targeting Asian Link Lists as well? Bathhouse Blues crosses so many different subjects, and I’ve always gotten pretty good traffic from the Asian Link Lists.
i’d suggest taking one freesite and posting all its stats across a full 2 months. or if you wanted a better cross section, maybe 10 freesites in different niches, check stats for the 2 full months for each one and you’ll have a pretty good idea of not only how much traffic the first few days of listing but total traffic even for sites that take a month to list a site. more trouble? sure, but you’ll know for sure rather than stopping posting at some lists that simply take longer than others.
