Hello, another question about paysites. What do you prefer - as webmaster - for your paysite? Console o reality layout?
I have a theory, my own: reality designs need constant updates, new contents or they smell like an old fish. Consoles remember me 2000ish paysites. If the designer is good with 5-6 sets can make a site appear full of contents.
Personally - as surfer - console has ever made me horny. I don’t like reality so much. As webmaster I prefer reality because I can show all my stuff, and obviously I’m proud of my contents.
Granted there might be better reality examples out there but am sure this Xstr8Guys site will give you the idea of what it was Simon wanted to know…
And to answer the question, i think that Reality is doing better these days especially if you keep it updated with the new releases… Reality sites with the same “episodes” on the front page for month after month will see a decline in repeat visitors i think…
i guess i can’t see what that would be called a “console” tour - looks like a standard tour to me. and a really well done standard tour still sells great for me, only most of them are done rather poorly imo.
As a surfer, console tours always scream “bullshit” with their wild claims of thousands of pics and videos, live chat, blah blah blah … I’m sure tons of surfers still get sucked in, but the experienced surfer will have had a couple of go-arounds with these types of sites and be leery of them.
And more and more, the console type tours have been abandoned by gay-owned sites. A lot of the console sites seem to be largely run by the straight programs wanting a piece of the gay pie.

To be honest as surfer I like console more than reality.

Just to clarify, UKNM may have a reality-style tour but it is not a reality site. We are really at the opposite end of the spectrum from reality. We are more of a fantasy site. Generally our videos have themes that involve story, wardrobe, unique sets and (gasp!) sometimes scripted dialogue. There is never any of that “straight guy gets paid to be blown” stuff on UKNM.
not all str8 guy sites are reality sites - in fact, many are not. reality tours are what some people call video tours - the old topbucks reality tours are a good example, like his first huge cock or nastydollars’ boys first time. reality porn, which is always a scripted fantasy that pretends to be real, usually includes a street pickup (or mall or bar or whatever) of a supposed “unknowing” person, not just an interview and sex.
If you read my post again, I wasn’t lumping Straight Guy sites like Fratmen, Corbin Fisher, etc. into the reality category.
I was merely pointing out that even though UKNM may have a reality-style tour, it is not a reality site like Broke Straight Boys, Boys First Time, etc.
I dont think it matters too much imo. I think you need to show some of the REAL and ACTUAL models you have inside the site so I can get a sense of the guys.
90% of the time Ive bought a membership to a porn site is because I saw some of the models inside and I found that one guy who triggered something in me and I HAD to see more of them, so I bought a membership.
I totally agree with dzinerbear that those generic tours with no samples smell bullshit to me.
I’d never buy a membership to a site if i didnt know what was inside because I know I would be disappointed.
As this thread defines it, I like the reality-tour style. Good points are showing the updates dates, showing the new featured scenes, and an archive of past featured scenes.
