Has anyone been following the latest legislation introduced in the US Senate, called COICA ( Combatting Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act S.3804) that was introduced last week, that apparently is on a fast track to passage?
Supposedly it will create two black lists, for bad internet domains, of which only one requires mandatory exclusion, or something like that. It is supposedly created, managed, by the Courts, while the second is voluntary, administered by the DOJ.
You can read a better explanation here, by David Segal. Seems he’s got a petition up to try and stop it, claiming it could go too far, and is too vague, but could include the blacklisting of so called ‘unaccepted domains’ by whim of the AG.
