i don’t recommend godaddy as an adult host. from their terms and conditions under your obligations:
it starts off with
You agree not to engage in unacceptable use of any Services, which includes, without limitation, use of the Services to:
and after a long list, includes this restriction:
disseminate or transmit any material that, to a reasonable person may be abusive, obscene, pornographic, defamatory, harassing, grossly offensive, vulgar, threatening or malicious
so if you host at godaddy, your site may be taken down at any time. get a cheap adult host to get started - hosthead or nakedhosting - and you’ll have a solid host that definitely accepts adult.
[QUOTE=rawTOP;23825]Blogger and blogspot do not use WordPress. Wordpress.com uses Wordpress as do many other site-specific blogs, but not Blogger/Blogspot - they’re competitors of WordPress.

Didn’t know that - sorry, just assumed they were using Wordpress MU.
Patti’s right … Godaddy is fine for the domain registrar part, but not for hosting your adult material. Take a look at www.global2000hosting.com … they allow adult. Check out the Cpanel Demo, and you’ll see that he offers Fantastico for software, click that, and you’ll then see at least 3 different blog software applications (including wordpress) that can be installed for you with a couple of clicks.
If you get a new host, all you do at Godaddy is change the DNS settings to the new host provider. You’d still pay godaddy for domain name renewals.
Nice to see you getting some good advice Ucbearcub. You can’t find a better place to get it than here either I can tell you. I’ve learned everything I know from these great folks myself.
Godaddy is a good hosting company. I’ve used them in the past and had no serious issues that I can recall.
If you’re interested in trading links with an industry site, my blogging site - http://www.porn-n-prose.com likes link trades. I write blogs and stories for a fair amount of people in the gay and straight biz. Take a look and tell me whether you want to. Once you get the Wordpress thing going of course.
Yeah, get away from the Blogspot deal. I know it works and all that, but they really do not allow adult. While you may get away with it for a while, I personally had two adult blogs shut down right out of the blue one time by them. lol I can laugh at it now, but back then it wasn’t too funny. I lost months of content posts etc. So get all the info you can off that blog if you want to keep it and store it somewhere until you can repost it. Manually if you have to.
Check out the Wordpress workshops here and you’ll learn a lot my friend. I sincerely think it’s simply the best blogging platform out there. It has it’s quarks and whatnot, but nothing is perfect when it comes to blogging apps.
All the best and send me a PM about the link trade if you’re into it!
They have a saying in country music, ‘You better not sound like everyone else, cause you’ll never make it’. The same hold true in the blog and even porn world. You need to create a niche for yourself in the blog/porn world, that no one else is doing right now. Might be tough to think of, but there are ideas and concepts that no one has even thought of. That is the first step to develop an audience IMHO.
Thanks for the compliment, Luke. I appreciate it; especially since all it seems I’ve done lately is go to work then work on the blog. And I’m not even making money yet! But I have a feeling this is going to be the kind of thing where I sink a lot of time into before things really start to move; especially after we get our first DVD produced!
I think you should do a bit of an experiment… Install Google Analytics, then get signed up with directories, get links from porn blogs, as well as get links from other bloggers with more personal blogs. I think you’ll be surprised how much traffic you get from people who don’t know forums like this even exist, and how little you’ll get from most directories (there are some exceptions0. I have access to the analytics of a number of bloggers and other bloggers are a good source of traffic for your type of blog… Contact me directly (either PM or e-mail) and we’ll set things up. You’ve created a bit of a duplicate content problem with your new blog having the same text as the old blog… There are a few things like that we should discuss before you go to far…
