(Reuters) - An influential U.S. consumer watchdog is investigating online reports that Apple Inc’s new iPad throws off an unusually large amount of heat and will publish its findings later on Tuesday.

I picked up my new iPad a few days ago. I like the way it’s keeps my fingers warm
Justified the purchase because I need to see that my videos run okay on an iPad… it does have a very nice screen.

Well as people probably know by now I have a love/hate relationship with Apple, and this doesn’t surprise me in the least. Even after all my complaints though, I’m probably going to break down and buy a bloody Ipad, if for no other reason then I want to read Dominic’s magazine.

Not rocket since as Rob pointed out. The Ipad is slightly thicker due to a larger battery. A larger battery = more heat. Duh!
