Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

http://creampieporn.tumblr.com/ warning its str8 shit, now i can get some gay sales again tho, i am going to grab some killer gay words and get my gay sales back i lost after the big tubes wiped out my gaytraffic on the good smaller tubes. I am interested to see if google/panda likes this and gives me #1 spot, since they value social compontents the most now and its all social  Tumblr gets 8 billion page views a month now, not bad

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

I love Tumblr. Itā€™s so easy to use and visual. Theyā€™re so porn friendly. It feels like the early days of the internet or the old west or something, anything is possible.

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

There are a lot of Amateur Bloggers who use it and are listed on BestMaleBlogs.com. A lot of the blogs looks really nice, their templates and layout really works well for our type of content. I donā€™t know what their rules are with Adult content though:

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

it is a great way of promotion, if people start reblogging you. You get links to your website on hundreds of other tumblr blogs, all do-follow.

Some users have thousands of Tumblr followers and they allow submission to their blog, your traffic then goes crazy

From the sales point of view tho, I donā€™t think itā€™s worth it - Tumblr is mostly used by youngsters without money to spend on porn if they can see it all there, however it is a way to promote your keyword.

You can also use your RSS to update Tumblr blog.

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

Yeah, I know a lot of studios are just now (read: in the last few months) catching on to Tumblr as a promotional tool. Like with Twitter, I donā€™t think itā€™s necessarily the best way to go about getting sales and/or direct trafficā€¦but itā€™s brilliant as a brand-builder (just as long as you make sure your photos are watermarked and/or link to your site).

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

I need to make my tumblr blog better, but now I heard of a friend yesterday said she got shutdown after one day for porn? I had a feeling any traffic from there might not convert, but see if it will get some se traffic

Rough estimate Quantcast for Tumblr Blog Network:

US Demographics male/female:

18% : < 17
38% : 18 Ć¢Ā€Ā“ 34
44% : > 35

We all know there are lies, damned lies and statistics, but if you are a believer and consider these stats to be true, then Tumblr has more mature followers then could be expected.

[URL=ā€œhttp://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/integrationā€]http://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/integration
under ā€œImporting feedsā€

I used it in the past, but honestly I canā€™t find it anymore under ā€œCustomizeā€, maybe it depends on the theme you use (wouldnā€™t make sense tho).

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

Apparently its not there anymore. http://www.labnol.org/internet/tumblr-rss-import/19620/ For whatever reason, tumblr took the feature away with no warning or explanation.

Its still technically possible to import the posts using the tumblr api key, but it requires quite a bit of technical experience.

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

Apparently Tumblr has now surpassed Wordpress.com as the most visited blogging site. (Sorryā€¦ I didnā€™t save the link where I read this.)

Iā€™m going to try an experiment where I create a Tumblr blog with some gay porn posts but I will be linking not to sponsors but to 10 of my most under-performing, least visited stand-alone gay porn blogs. The point is to see if those blogs experience a worthwhile uptick in traffic over 30 days. Iā€™ll report back on the results!

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

Be careful with TUMBLR - when they still had the RSS embedd going on they closed down 3 sites of mine with the fishy explanation I was using to many ā€œRss feedsā€ and did place too many ā€œoutside linksā€ on my blog - whatever that meant. I tried to talk to them what they meant, but I never got an good explanation and I got one blog back and lo and behold it got shot down again after I used that TUMBLR plugin for wordpress that allows you to automatically post blog posts from wordpress to Tumblr.

I had one Tumblr account closed for ā€œagressive following other tumblr blogsā€ using one of my social media following software, that was a bit risky to add too many of them.

I had some success with submitting pictures actually to tumblr accounts that seemed to be popular - that would another strategy to look at - it works often and gives you exposure to a bigger crowd.

Having said that TUMBLR is full of stolen content and pictures cut off of the original URLs and god knows what. If you would be able to automate processes on TUMBLR it would be great, but so far every time I introduce a automation process the accounts get shut down without any warning and explanation.

I also had the option to use my OWN domain to connect it to TUMBLR - I can advice against that as 10-20% of the time your domain will show a twitter like message ā€œwe are over capacityā€ and you loose the hell of traffic with a dedicated domain.

If anyone has a decent strategy for TUMBLR I am all ears!

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

They are fine with adult content, they are not too keen on affiliate stuff.

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

True, affiliate links were the reason I lost my Tumblr blogs

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

So it sounds like I might be on the right track about using Tumblr to feed traffic to my regular blogs.

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

Weā€™ve been using tumblr for about a year and itā€™s bringing in sales. Itā€™s much more visual that twiiter which is more about communicating with other people and creating conversation. I think tumblr is much better for actually promoting our models and content. Plus itā€™s free and quick to add updates.

Re: Anyone Else Using Tumblr Yet??

I just started using tumblr and I love it! Itā€™s easy to understand and I feel like Iā€™m still being original even with thousands of other users on the site!
