Win 7 Help! How do i clear desktop?

My one big issue currently with Windows7 is that there seems to be no button I can have in my taskbar which when clicked clears my desktop and minimize all the windows. There used to be one in both XP and Vista, where has it gone??

It’s driving me nuts as I always clear desktop to get to my different applications and document shortcuts that sits on the desktop. :bang:

On the far right of the taskbar, is a rectangle, barely visible, mouse over it and the apps all disappear showing only the desktop.
