"Sleeping" boys sites

About promotion, yes maybe, I don’t know…
IMO people are specialized in what they know best how to do…
For example, I assume that there are people who are very good in business, promotion, social media and social things, but who are much less good in finding (str8) boys and filming them and so on, and vice-versa.
Same about site design. The guys who are very good in that, may be less good in “production” (scouting and filming), or they simply don’t have the time for that.
In the past, it was possible for a single guy (like me) to do all (scouting, filming, promoting) because things were quite simple, rather easy to do.
I was even in the 1st page (or sometimes 2nd page) of Google for “teenboys”, before 2008, without having any notion of SEO, and my site design was simply crap (much worse than now), it was just static, no PHP.

Nowadays things are very sophisticated and I have the feeling that only the very big things (or companies) can continue, so they have at least one person for each sector (production, site design and management), and promotion.

What was possible to do for a single guy in the past is now simply impossible because one would have to be extremely specialized and good in each sector.
I cannot do that. This is why I assume(d) that affiliates could be interested and that it would work (I’m referring to my “regular” site, youngstraightboys, not to boysvoyeur, let’s forget about that because it creates too many problems and disagreement).

Yes the promotion content should be on the affiliate sites or pages, it was working like that in the past, for example with all the Russian sites (like Mike18, AaronCute…), these sites did not really have a “tour”, just some images showing many boys on the same image.

However, in my case if I remove the images and clips from the preview (or if I leave only 1 or 2 per boy), probably the sales will go down. Or maybe there are too many free pictures (even if the sex is +/- censored). Difficult to know…

IMO the biggest problem is the lack of traffic. Once a user is on my site, there is +/- 1 chance in 50 that he will sign-up. (I have about 50 visits (only!) per day and about 1 signup per day.)

So if an affiliate uses a few pictures or clips from my preview area, why people would not click and land to the site ? This content is rather original (IMO) and there are enough customers who like that (some of them are following me since more than 10-15 years).
The only problem is: how to find new customers who would love the content but who simply don’t know it is existing…

Maybe I’m wrong but IMO placing just a few images or something somewhere for promotion should work.
The few sites who make advertisement for YSB (like GayDemon review does) probably can see that the ratio of signups/visits is very good. I’ve read that 1:100 is good, so I guess that 1:50 is excellent.
But if there is no promo, no display, of course it cannot work, it is like the lottery, if you don’t play, you cannot win

Thanks.

I dont think it would work since the billers these days very regularly check content inside of our members areas as paysites, so just hiding it from a tour wouldn’t pass…

To answer your question regarding KOJO content… its free with a free membership… If you look you will find “TOO CONTROVERSIAL - NOW AVAILABLE FREE!” under all the video previews…

Thank you Daniel.
But I did not understand why you wrote “I dont think it would work since the billers these days very regularly check content inside of our members areas as paysites, so just hiding it from a tour wouldn’t pass…”…
No one mentioned that idea in the thread…

Anyway with all my sites it’s possible to know exactly what is inside Members area, for any web user (they can browse it but they cannot open the videos and pictures in big size without password - in other words, they can see only miniatures).

And anyway my conclusion to this topic is that the only solution available to “monetize” the “sleeping content” that I have (and which has a value) is crypto.
I can pay my hosting company with cryptos (74 $ / month) so if my sleeping content can earn at least 74 $ / month, it’s fine. It would relieve me of finding that money each month, which is about 10% of what I earn. Given all the fixed expenses (like the rent to pay), it is an important amount for me.

Certainly most readers here make more money with their sites. I simply have no idea about how to do. I’m trying all I can.
So, I can just propose affiliation. Those who “resell” my site YoungStraightBoys can probably see that the signup ratio is about 1:50, which IMO is very good.

Thanks and sorry if anything.

Hey Sorry my reply was directed at jay who had said;

“Rob’s comment makes me wonder whether affiliates can do the marketing that the site owner can’t. Basically the scenes wouldn’t be on the tour - but promo materials could be distributed to affiliates who promote the scenes and get the word out.”

Which implied to me hiding the content in the members area away from the tours (something which might have worked 10 years ago but not these days)…

With regards to your comments about growing your sales, its a long journey, and your comments earlier about doing multiple jobs and needing to be a master of all is actually more the common place these days. There are still those in the industry with huge teams but there are also some of us just working very long hours with a very small team to get everything done.

We have seen our studio’s FrenchTwinks grow from a 1 man team to a 4 man team in 9 years and only in the past year has the 4th person come on board. Believe me most here share your frustrations at what billers expect of us or the amount of work needed in 2022 compared to “the good old days” of porn… but its the world we are living in.

On a lighter note… I have just signed up to your affiliate program, I will try incorporate some of content into one of my blogs if I get time soon

Dear Daniel, thank you very much for all these clarifications and thoughts

And thanks also for signing as a reseller
There is not much promo content, but maybe at least a banner is better than nothing.
“Every little helps”, and, yeah, the “good old days” are gone, but as long as one can survive (pay the bills (food, home…) and the boys and server and some hardware), that’s OK for me

Regarding the “sleeping content”, well, I know that I’m a bit stubborn sometimes, there are many people here (in the topic) who said that it was not a good idea, and indeed there is not much to do with that. Sometimes some customers (Members) ask me how to access my “sleeping” site, and there is always a way to make some “manual” transaction and subscription.

Regarding my main site (YSB), apparently it’s not the cup of tea for many, but the few who like that (str8 boys 20 y.o. being fondled and often sucked), they really love it. Some of them are following me since more than 10 years. Recently I even got a “Sponsor” (from the USA) who pays all the costs of new shooting sessions (about twice per month), which is really good. In “exchange”, he can enjoy the stuff he paid for, exclusive for him, during one year. And after that I publish it for other Members. One has to be creative  (Although the idea of “sponsors” or “patrons” is not new…)
Thanks for reading.
