Is promoting DVDs on blog posts or pages fruitless or do these kinds of posts convert? I’ve seen it is 40 or 30 percent for the affiliate if a sale is made. The main thing is do DVD promotions on affiliate blogs do enough so it’s worth it?

Do you write a good long description of the DVD, tell the price, say “this DVD…” so people know the post is about a DVD to buy?
Re: promoting DVDs on blog posts, pages
I have a DVD section on 2 of my blogs as well as a VOD theater.
To keep things simple, I get checks from DVD sales and have not received anything yet from VOD.
They aren’t videos but last year I did a post on 2010 calendars featuring amateur men and made some sales off that as well.
I’m not an expert to be sure but I believe that the key is to make sure what ever product you are providing space for on your blog fits well with the overall theme (niche).

Thanks, Paul.
Re: promoting DVDs on blog posts, pages
I wouldn’t bother with DVDs, the sales you would get are minimal and pretty much any other product will sell easier and more.
Re: promoting DVDs on blog posts, pages
I wondered if that might be the case. Did you have anything specific product in mind for “any other product” that would sell easier and more," or was that just another way or saying it doesn’t sell much? Curious.
Re: promoting DVDs on blog posts, pages
I pushed DVDs like crazy while I owned Gay Porn Pig, never sold many at all. Most of the traffic was more interested in VOD videos than DVDs.

How do you push VOD?
Do you write a post about the video and link to the theater or???
Currently I have a simple sidebar text link or button to VOD theaters or DVD stores and DVDs selling better.
Sorry if this is off topic Tim. I’m currious too and would like to make best use of my online space.

Not off topic at all, just the kind of discussion I’m interested in. Wonder why such opposite results for different sites.

Re: promoting DVDs on blog posts, pages
Studios were sending me DVDs, I’d watch them, write a review, and put a “watch it now” link. But even as much as I was pushing VOD it wasn’t worth the time I put into the reviews.
