Offshore Juristictions & Banking

Re: Offshore Juristictions & Banking
This is exactly my point and unfortunately how the system in the UK works. If you have £1.6 bn you can afford the best tax lawyers and normal Taxation laws can be avoided. For you and me, well at least most of us that’s out of reach. You will need to making very large amounts of money before it’s worth considering setting up offshore structures.

There are other ways of minimizing taxation in the UK. For example taking no salary and only pay yourself dividends, company paid private pension schemes, folding / restarting new companies every 3 years etc. Those kind of things will be more efficient for our size of businesses.
I think your previous bad experience has coloured your view on this subject and perhaps blinded you to possible advantages of setting up offshore, even for SME businesses.

P.S. I don’t see how folding and restarting a new company every 3 years could be considered to be a sensible or legitimate way of ‘reducing’ ones tax exposure.

… I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

I wouldn’t personally like to restart a company every 3 years, but I know there are people who do as a way of being tax efficient.

I’m always looking for ways of improving how I do business and would be very interested in hearing your experiances. What are your views on offshore companies. What would you suggest?
